Current Water Rates
New water rates approved by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) took effect on August 1, 2024.
Why the Increase?
This rate adjustment is necessary to support critical infrastructure and maintenance of our water system. It also helps recover costs incurred since our last rate increase four years ago. These investments are essential to ensure that we continue to provide safe, reliable tap water to over 100,000 residents.
Key Points:
Average Increase: Approximately $12 per quarterly bill for the average residential customer.
Applies To: Drinking water charges only (not sewer or stormwater). Green Bay customers currently pay a fixed quarterly fee, a fire protection charge and a volumetric charge for water. The new rates will only apply to the drinking water portion of your bill.
Additional Information: Detailed rates are available here.
Committed to Transparency
Green Bay Water Utility operates entirely on the revenue generated from rates, without any tax dollars. All rates are set through the PSCW’s transparent, public process, ensuring rigorous legal review. We are committed to maintaining transparency and ensuring that our customers understand the necessity of these changes.
